The two
secrets that create successful results with our clients
Before revealing those two factors, let’s
take the mystery out of the concept “SECRET”.
Valid but not commonly known or recognized method of
achieving or maintaining something (what’s their secret?)
se·cret (s kr t):
adj.
1. Kept hidden from
knowledge or view; concealed.
2. Known or shared only by the initiated: secret rites.
3. Beyond ordinary understanding; mysterious.
n.
1. Something kept hidden
from others or known only to oneself or to a few.
2. Something that remains beyond understanding or
explanation; a mystery.
3. A method or formula on which success is based:
Our secret to success is
found in two categories. Each of these categories is
directly controlled by our clients. Our work is based on
releasing this innate wisdom.
The first area is a phenomenon
that obscures learning.
There are proven
management models that have been developed over the past
40 years that have yet to find their way into common
business practices.
One school of thought for this occurrence is that managers
tend to manage the way they were managed. Proven
management models that have been developed are therefore
summarily dismissed rather than being acknowledged and
practiced.
Others suggest that these models were simply discovered
ahead of their time. Like most great innovations, it may
actually take a generation before they are recognized.
The
second category deals with the affective or emotional
aspect of humans.
For the sake of brevity,
consider why you or anyone else takes action toward
achieving something significant. There will always be a
reason “why” that many times is not even recognized as
the motivator by the individual.
However, these hidden or secret characteristics are only
hidden when we focus on external conditions to satisfy
our goals. Looking inside we discover the talents and
strengths that are the real keys to our success.
The Challenge - Many People Dare Not Look
These hidden keys to success remain hidden. We keep them
hidden and struggle through our lives rather than picking
up the key of willingness and releasing our “true
potential.”
These natural talents, abilities, and strengths that are
intended to serve now become the “best secrets of all”.
This may be the greatest mystery of human existence.
Most attempts at improvement will focus on the cognitive
or behavioral components of individuals. Rarely, if at
all, will the “affective” component be addressed! This
component is actually the master control of how we think
and act.
All of our work with
clients incorporates “affective” factors so positive
change becomes a natural result.
